We are looking for a well motivated person to join a newly formed team within the laboratory.
Applicants will need a BSc in Dental Technology or equivalent, (as recognised by the General Dental Council), you must also have an advanced qualification in both Maxillofacial & Orthodontic Technology, (diploma in professional studies) or equivalent, with at least two years experience in an NHS environment or similar (both specialities).This will have given you the ability to gain knowledge not just in the technical specialities, but also in areas relating to clinical governance, record keeping, confidentiality, adult and child protection, custom made EC Medical Device Directives etc.

You should hold current GDC registration as a professional complimentary to dentistry, or be in the process of registering to meet the deadline in 2008.

This is a busy department, which provides a service to ENT, Ophthalmology and theatres, in addition to the clinical sessions of Orthodontics and Maxillofacial consultants.
The Laboratory runs its own Maxillofacial prosthetic clinics which you would be expected to participate in. Orthodontics plays a large role in the work of the laboratory with specialised splint construction, Orthodontic surgical planning, specialised functional and fixed appliances being some of the areas that you would be responsible for taking part in. Membership of one or all of the following at the level shown would be advantageous, MIMPT. LOTA. LBIDST.
