CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
With A Difference
We are offering CPD courses with lots of practical interaction to advance your knowledge of bespoke orthopaedic footwear and the range of problems that can be addressed. The course was set up partly to enlighten healthcare professional as to what was and was not possible with orthopaedic footwear. Many foot, ankle, knee and back conditions can be helped by either adapting or making footwear.
The aim is to help your patient management and would include conditions such as bunions, hallux rigidus, diabetes, plantar faciitis, leg shortening and many more.
The course will be conducted by Peter Schweiger, owner and managing director. There has also been input from his brother Martin, a Doctor in Public Health.
James Taylor & Son, located in close proximity to Harley Street’s clinics and hospitals, has been helping to solve footwear problems since 1857. I have over 40 years of experience fitting people with the most challenging foot and lower extremity conditions.
The knowledge and skills required to practice this specialised skill tend to be passed from one generation to the next and take years of practice to master. Sadly, fewer people are prepared to take the time required to learn these skills and with this in mind James Taylor & Son are offering a rare opportunity to gain CPD with an orthopaedic shoemaker.
Our course:
· 2 hours with interactive sessions £45 (£35 for BIDST members) per person including light refreshments.
· Topics - practical sessions on foot measurements, shoe examination & foot imprinting
· Enhancing patient management
· On our premises and in the workshops
· Maximum 10 per course–If you have any areas of special interest please let me know

Practices that are seldom observed beyond the premises will be shared with health practitioners and we will pass on some useful tricks of the trade.
